Visit the Isle of Harris:
It takes just over an hour to drive to the ferry port of Tarbert, but go beyond and visit the many small villages and stunning beaches, yet as it stays light till almost midnight in the summer you can still enjoy the spectacular scenery on the way home and get back in time for dinner.
Below are just a very small selection of the places to might like to visit in Harris.
Day Trips to St. Kilda:
Occupied for 4000 years the last islanders left St. Kilda in 1930. This isn't one island but a small group, all listed as places of special scientific interest. The islands have their own species of field mice, the largest in Britian! But they are better known for the seabird colonies that inhabit the cliffs. St. Kilda is one of the places that you will remember forever, far out in the Atlantic it is hauntingly beautiful. Find out more from the St Kilda Wee Guide.
